A Life Beyond Selfies!

It is truly said that we live once and the time we get to spend with our loved ones is something precious and sacred.

I know that life is unpredictable and you never know what happens the very next minute. I also know that collecting memories is what most people want to do; so that, at the end of the day, when they are too old to get out of their beds and make coffee on their own and open their laptops, they find their smiling youthful faces, instilling within them a fresh sense of energy.

Even the thought of it is beautiful.

Let me take you to a very different land now. Let’s walk in the past, recalling those days when cameras and cell phones were nothing but mere fantasy.

Let us talk to those people who grew old in those times and know what their point of view is.

Trust me, they were happier. There are many other reasons as well, but believe me, this is also one of them.

They do not have pictures on pieces of paper or in electronic gadgets but they remember those happy days vividly and can recall those moments of togetherness better than the way we can.

Pictures and videos enhance our lives, make us look beautiful, look young and feel better about ourselves. Selfie, as the new trend says, makes it even better. You do not need anyone to click your picture. How amazingly have things changed around us! Isn’t it?

But why not look beyond this beautiful experience and into the time when nothing of this will remain. Accept it, you’ll be happier if you live truly, make memories and capture less. Isn’t that what we all want?

I have lived it both ways and trust me, the memories that you do not capture, are the ones which stay with you longer.
