1. Bridget Jones’s Baby
The third installment in the successful Bridget Jones series starring Renée Zellweger as Bridget Jones, Colin Firth as Mark Darcy, and Hugh Grant as Daniel Cleaver along with Patrick Dempsy.
Planned for a release on September 16 and a continuation of Helen Fielding’s novel of the same name. It has gained extensive admiration for its portrayal of young adults, love, family and relationships.
2. Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them
Potterheads went crazy when Rowling announced a continuation to the Harry Potter Universe. The movie is a spin-off of the series and features the author’s debut as a screenplay writer. Rowling called the movie a fantasy drama filled with magic similar to Harry Potter centered on an eccentric reclusive wizard played by Eddie Redmayne.
He previously stunned audiences with his lead role as Stephen Hawking in ‘The Theory Of Everything’. It’s scheduled to be released on 18 November 2016 worldwide. Formats include the 3D, IMAX, and even 4K Laser format.
3. Blair Witch
The Blair Witch Project(1999) left a deep impact on the horror movie genre with its revolutionary camera effects and suspense filled the atmosphere, regarded as one of the most successful independent movies.
The sequel now features a group of college students investigating the Black Hills Forest in Maryland. The movie premiered at the San Diego Comic-Con on July 22, 2016. It has already garnered a 100% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes. It’s scheduled for release in the United States on September 16, 2016.
4. Snowden
Oliver Stone has gifted the world gems like Platoon, Born on the Fourth of July, Wall Street, and JFK. And he’s working on Snowden. As the title suggests, the film follows Edward Snowden’s journey from his whistleblowing days to his escape and asylum in Russia. It is scheduled to be released in North America on September 16, 2016.

An adaptation of Paula Hawkins debut novel, it was described as ‘the next Gone-Girl’. The movie is a mystery thriller that is sure to stun audiences. Emily Blunt plays the lead role, sharing the screen with Rebecca Ferguson, Haley Bennett, Justin Theroux,Laura Prepon and Lisa Kudrow. It’s slated for release on October 7, 2016.
Tate Taylor who gained fame for directing ‘The Help’ which touched on racial tensions in an American suburb, serves the director for the movie.
6. Jack Reacher: Never Go Back
Tom Cruise is back and with not another Mission Impossible movie. The action megastar is returning with a sequel to the much awaited Jack Reacher(2012) which takes its roots from Lee Child’s highly successful novel series.
It’s planned to be released on October 21. Cobie Smulders, famous for her roles in ‘How I Met Your Mother’ and ‘The Avengers’ series, is the secondary protagonist. Rest assured, expect a lot of standoffs, chases, explosions and witty one-liners.
7. Doctor Strange
Benedict Cumberbatch makes a heroic return to the silver screen after ‘The Imitation Game’ as a Marvel superhero. Doctor Strange became the most discussed movie after Suicide Squad and Batman Vs Superman. Filming locations include Nepal, New York City, and the United Kingdom.
Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rachel McAdams, Benedict Wong and Michael Stuhlbarg are a few to name in the film’s robust star cast. Scheduled for a November 4 release, fans are waiting to see his rendition. 8. Alien: Covenant
The latest in the horror science fiction series revolves around the inhabitants of the Covenant ship who meet with danger on landing in uncharted territory. The characters explore the wreckage and destruction resultant from the previous ‘Prometheus’ movie while battling the creatures they made.

9. Star Wars:Rogue One
Lucasfilm’s biggest Christmas gift this year is going to be another Star Wars installment. The events occur before the events of A New Hope. 10. Assassin’s Creed
Ubisoft’s most awaited release this year remains the movie adaptation of the original Assassin’s creed game series. Set during the Spanish Inquisition period, the film stars Michael Fassbender in the lead role. Other stars include Marion Cotillard, Jeremy Irons, Brendan Gleeson and Michael K. Williams.
