Garden State

Based on the real-life experiences of actor Zach Braff, the film is a rom-com about a struggling actor who returns to his hometown. But struggle seems to follow him, as he deals with the death of his mother and several unforeseen revelations from his past life. It was an official selection at the Sundance Film Festival and even won a Grammy Award for ‘Best Soundtrack.’

Joel Schumacher proved he still had the director’s chops after delivering one of the most thrilling nail-biters of the modern century. And the entire events of the movie take place in a phone booth. The occupant is a shady publisher played by Colin Farrel who finds himself in a fix when a sniper forces him to follow his instructions and disclose all personal secrets to the world.

Another classic that was adopted from a novel. The movie is a black comedy that follows the exploits of a con man played by Nicolas Cage whose life turns upside down after a few dirty deals and deceptions. The film focuses on the depraved lives of four teenagers who face the dilemma of having to choose between reality and delusions. Situations start to worsen when they can no longer make the distinction and start destroying everything around them.

Seven Pounds

One of Will Smith’s lesser known films that received mixed reception during its release. It was a break from the standard action comedy movies that the public had seen for such a long time. The actor returned to work along with Gabriele Muccino with whom he crafted the biopic ‘The Pursuit of Happyness’. Seven Pounds remains a dramatic movie that becomes even more emotional when viewed multiple times.

Fight Club

The one movie you need to watch, especially if you’re an insomniac or just questioning your place in this world. Ripped apart from the pages of Chuck Palahniuk’s controversial novel of the same name, the film follows Edward Norton’s path of self-destruction along with Brad Pitt(Tyler Durden).
