Educational websites are a dime a dozen in this day and age but what sets Khan Academy apart is its vast array of tutorials. Founded by educator and entrepreneur Salman Khan, the website has become the preferred destination for many school students battling the Indian education system.
And now Khan Academy is hosting its much-awaited ‘India talent search’ once again.
What’s it all about
The competition in short mainly looks for a candidate’s mental prowess in Science and Mathematics. It’s totally free and is open to entrants 18 years or older.
The website is looking for charismatic individuals who have the gist and devotion to teach students using video lectures. The competition requires contestants to submit a video either in Hindi or English on the following subjects:-
1. Mathematics( Grade 6 to 12).
2. Physics( Grade 9 to Grade 12).
3. Chemistry( Grade 9 to Grade 12).
4. Biology( Grade 9 to Grade 12).
The deadlines for the video submission is December 12 and is expected to oversee a huge turnout similar to last year.
What’s in it for you
The joy and pleasure of educating students in need is just one of the many perks behind getting selected. Being of the top ten finalists earns you a spot in creating future content for the website and contributing to its ever increasing student base.
And that’s not all. The top finalist will receive a staggering Rs. 1,00,000 and Rs. 20,000 for each of the other top nine finalists.
Winners will also be given a chance to interact and work along with creator Salman Khan.
Entries have been restricted to one per entrant and is not applicable for groups and companies.
Khan Academy has also placed several guidelines regarding the use of copyright content in the video submissions that creators must be careful about. This includes adding references to any external sources.
Previous sources suggest that judging will be left entirely onto a panel of judges who will judge the entries based on a predetermined set of factors. This includes title, length of video, topic chosen, speech, pronunciation and level of understanding.
