There are various Hollywood sitcoms which are famous in India. These serials from the west have taken over space on our computers and even in our hearts. People are going crazy about these serials and even post things relating to them.

They have gained a lot of popularity among the Indian people. Earlier people used to wait for these serials to be aired and then use to watch them over the internet but now the time has changed, and now people watch them on their tv sets only.

It is an American sitcom created by David Crane and Marta Kauffman. The show casts Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer and the story revolves around six friends who are living in Manhattan. The series was produced in association with Warner Bros. The filming took place at Warner Bros. Studios in California.

The last series of the show aired in 2004. It was regarded as the best tv serial of its era. It had received a lot of appreciation from the audience and has been nominated for various awards, winning many out of them. There is a total of ten seasons of this serial.

2. How I Met Your Mother

How I Met Your Mother which is often abbreviated as HIMYM is an American show that originally aired on September 19, 2005. The story follows the main character, Ted Mosby, and his group of friends living in Manhattan. It tells that Ted, in the year 2030, recounts to his son and daughter the events that led him to meet their mother.

It was created by Thomas and Bays, who also served as the show’s executive producers and were frequent writers. It is based on their friendship when they used to live in New York. The ninth and the last season of the serial was aired in 2014.

The show is famous for its unique story and thus liked by the viewers.

Game of Thrones is a fantasy drama television serial created by David Benioff and D.B. Weiss. It is an adaptation of “A Song of Ice and Fire,” George Martin’s series of fantasy novels. It was first aired in 2011 and its sixth season concluded in 2016. The series was renewed for its seventh season, which is scheduled to air in 2017 with a total of seven episodes.

The story is based on two continents namely Westeros and Essos. It tells who will be the King of the Andals and the first men and will rule all the seven kingdoms. Various conflicts and battles take place between the seven houses to sit on the iron throne. The show has won many awards and is gaining a lot of popularity all over the world.

4. The Big Bang Theory

The Big Bang Theory is an American sitcom created by Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady, both of whom serve as executive producers on the series, along with Steven Molaro. The show premiered on September 24, 2007.

The story is based on five characters living in California: Leonard Hofstadter, Sheldon Cooper, Penny, Howard Wolowitz and Raj Koothrappali. The intellect of the four guys is contrasted with the comic effect of Penny’s social skills and common sense. With nine seasons aired the last one premiered in 2016 is becoming a buzz among the youngsters.

Sherlock is a British-American sitcom based on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes detective stories. It is created by Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss and casts Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock Holmes and Martin Freeman and Doctor Watson. The show was first aired in 2010.

Till date, only three seasons of the serial have been aired with three episodes in each of the seasons. A special episode was aired after the 3 season. The shooting for the fourth season has started in the UK and will premiere in 2017.

It is an American supernatural series developed by Kevin Williamson and is based on the popular book series by the same name written by L.J. Smith. The first season was aired on The CW in 2009. It deals with the supernatural creatures who live in Mystic Falls along with humans.

They try to co-exist with the human world but end up creating problems for them. A spin-off series named The Originals was aired, which focuses on the original family of the vampires. Till now only seven seasons have been aired. It has been renewed for its eighth and final season which is to be aired in 2017 with 16 episodes.

Suits is a legal drama American show which is created by Aaron Korsh. It premiered in 2011. It is based on a fictional law firm which is situated in NYC. A young talented college dropout Mike Ross is hired by Harvey Specter to work with him.

Both of them work together and solve many cases and on the same hand try to protect Mike’s secret of being a college dropout. But later, the secret is known by their rivals and they try to use it against them.

It has been nominated for many awards since 2012. Its season 6 premiered on July 13, 2016.

8. Two and a Half Men

Two and a Half Men started its journey on September 22, 2003, and ended on February 19, 2015, after completing twelve seasons. It casts Charlie Sheen, Jon Cryer, and Angus T. Jones as its original cast.

It talks about Charlie Harper, a writer and his brother Alan and Alan’s son Jake. It tells the story when Alan gets a divorce and move with his son to Charlie’s house and makes his life a living hell.

9. Dexter

Dexter is an American crime drama series that aired in 2006. Set in Miami, the series focuses on the life of Dexter Morgan, a forensic technician who specializes in blood spatter pattern analysis for the Miami Metro police department. Besides being a forensic technician, he also leads a separate life of being a serial killer, hunting all those criminals who have escaped from the justice of the system.

The series concluded in 2009 after airing eight seasons. The series was enjoyed a lot by the audience and mostly got positive reviews. It had also made a record of 2.6 million viewers, which made it to the most watched original series of the time.

10. Modern Family

It is an American mockumentary series that aired in 2009. It follows the life of Jay Pritchett and his family who used to live in a suburban area of Los Angeles. The show won many awards in each of its five years. Till now only seven seasons of the serial have been aired and it was renewed for its eight seasons on March 3, 2016.
