An Indonesian man is now the longest living human, he, at last, declares that he is ready to die.
Mbah Gotho
The man, who has made his mark in the recorded history is named Mbah Gotho. He was born on December 31, 1870, in Sragen in Central Java. According to his birth date, Mbah Gotho is now aged 145 years. In spite of his amazing longevity, this man does not have any wish to live any longer.
“What I want is to die. My grandchildren are all independent,” he told local media this week.
Gotho’s Family
Gotho has outlived most of his family members. He has unfortunately perceived the death of 10 of his siblings, his four wives, and even his children. Now his surviving relatives are his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Preparation of Mr. Gotho’s Death
One of Mr. Gotho’s grandson has reported that his grandfather has been preparing for his death since he was 122 years old. The old man has even bought a burial site near the graves of his children.
“The gravestone there was made in 1992. That was 24 years ago,” Mr. Gotho’s grandson said.
Mr. Gotho’s lifestyle now
Mr. Gotho now reportedly spends most of his times listening to the radio. His eyesight is too weak now, so he can’t watch television.
He is being spoon fed and bathed for the last three months, as he has become very frail.Mr. Gotho was questioned about the secret of his longevity. He replied-
“The recipe is just patience.”
Will Mr. Gotho make it to the World Record?
Though the date of birth on his identity card has been confirmed by the record office staff, but he will not make it to the records, until all the facts are independently verified.
The current record holder is a French woman, who died in1997, at the age of 122 years.
Lets hope that this old man, who has lived on, after losing most of his family, will make it to the world record.
