10 Less Known Kids of These Well Known Indian Politicians

Recently Sasha Obama, daughter of President Barack Obama was in the news regarding her summer internship in the restaurant. The first daughter was seen working at Nancy’s seafood restaurant on Martha’s Vineyard. Her 4-hour shift included bussing tables, doing prep work and manning the takeout window.

Unlike Barack Obama’s daughter, let us take a look at the son and daughters of our ministers who are currently a part of the central government of India.

1. Pankaj Singh, Son of home minister Rajnath Singh

Pankaj did his primary education from the Saraswati Shishu Mandir located in Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh. For high school, he went to Jharkhand at his grandparents home. He did his MBA from Amity University Manesar. Pankaj Singh is active in politics since 2002 and became the secretary of Uttar Pradesh in 2010. A famous politician in youth is currently working as General Secretary-BJP, Uttar Pradesh.

2. Utpal Parrikar, Son of Defence minister Manohar Parrikar

After spending a decade in the US, Utpal returned to the motherland and started a manufacturing unit in hometown Goa. 30 years Utpal holds an Engineering degree from  Goa’s Padre Concessao College of Engineering and is currently focussing on his new venture. He believes political positions are to be earned by hard work and not passed on like inheritance.

3. Sonali Jaitley, Daughter of Finance minister Arun Jaitley

Like father, Daughter Sonali Jaitley is also an advocate and works in their own law firm, Chambers of Bakshi and Jaitley. Sonali did her schooling from Carmel Convent School, New Delhi and did her LLB from Amity Law School. Last year she tied the knot with businessman and lawyer Jaish Bakshi.

4. Dhruv Goyal, Son of Piyush Goyal who is Minister of State with Independent Charge for Power, Coal, New and Renewable Energy and Mines

Dhruv has done his graduation from the Harvard University, USA. During his college days, he was also  elected as Vice Chairman of Harvard University Students Council-rare distinction. Currently, he is working as a Corporate Strategy Analyst at BlackRock, Newyork city. He has also enrolled in the 2+2 program for MBA Class of 2020.

5. Apoorva JAvdekar son of Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Prakash Javadekar

Apoorva always had an interest in studies and has completed Master’s in Economics at Delhi School of Economics and completed Chartered Accountancy (CA) program. Currently, he is pursuing, Ph.D. in Economics from Boston University, USA. HIs field of specialization includes  in financial markets, Macroeconomics and Econometrics.

6. Harkirat Kaur, Daughter of Union Cabinet Minister of Food Processing -Harsimrat Kaur Badal

22 years old Harkirat is currently pursuing BA Honors in Politics from Lady Shree Ram College of Delhi University. Always keen in studying, Harkirat has no interest to join politics in future and is rather interested in working from United Nations. In her 12th board exam, she got 100 percent marks in Psychology.

7. Shanelle Irani, Daughter of Smriti Irani, Minister of Textiles Department

Shanelle Irani is the daughter of Mona Irani who is the first wife of Smriti’s husband Zubin Irani. Shanelle is the eldest of three children and has done LLM from Georgetown University Law Cente. Currently, she is Legal Extern at Foley Hoag LLP in Washington.

8. Chirag Paswan, Son of Member of Parliament and Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan

Chirag Paswan has appeared in a Bollywood movie Miley Na Miley Hum opposite Kangna Ranaut.  He then turned into politics and belongs to Lok Janshakti Party. In 2014 he was selected as the member of Lok Sabha 2016 from Jamui constituency in Bihar.

9. Bansuri Swaraj, Daughter of Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj

She is the only daughter of Sushma Swaraj and advocates Swaraj Kaushal. Like father, she is also a law student. She did her graduation from  Oxford University and a Barrister from Inner Temple. She is also a Criminal lawyer practicing before Delhi High Court and Supreme Court of India. She came in the news during the case of Lalit Modi.

10. Ameya Prabhu, Son of Suresh Prabhu, Railway minister of India

Ameya has done his schooling from Mumbai. Later he pursued BS in Economics and Politics from Warwick University. He also holds Masters degree in Financial Management from IE Business School, Madrid – Spain.
