Priyanka Chopra was born and brought up in Jamshedpur, Bihar. Her father Dr. Ashok was a physician and PeeCee was the closest to him. However, her father died after a long battle with cancer in 2013. The daughter of an army officer, PeeCee had to change schools frequently. At the age of 13, Priyanka Chopra moved to the United States to study further and lived with her aunt for three years. She ultimately returned to India and finished the final year of her high school from Bareilly’s Army Public School.

While she was in Bareilly, she won the May Queen beauty pageant organized by the army. There was no looking back after that. She was crowned as the runner-up at the Femina Miss India contest in 2000. She bagged international attention and fame when she was crowned Miss World in 2000. The crown fetched her a one-way ticket to Bollywood.
