Yes, we are talking about the Quantico girl “Priyanka Chopra”. With singles like “Exotic”, “In My City,” and show “Quantico,” the actress has gained immense fame overseas and has become an overnight sensation.
From walking the red carpet at esteemed award shows (like the Oscars) to winning best awards (like the People’s Choice Award) to dining with the Obamas, Piggy Chops has done it all this year.
Priyanka Chopra, Bollywood’s desi girl, earned many other tags this year. She won awards for Quantico, shot for her Hollywood debut Baywatch and was honored by Time magazine. The actress turns 34 today and she has made a mark in the Bollywood industry and globally too. Yes! she is a global icon today.

Priyanka Chopra was born and brought up in Jamshedpur, Bihar. Her father Dr. Ashok was a physician and PeeCee was the closest to him. However, her father died after a long battle with cancer in 2013. The daughter of an army officer, PeeCee had to change schools frequently. At the age of 13, Priyanka Chopra moved to the United States to study further and lived with her aunt for three years. She ultimately returned to India and finished the final year of her high school from Bareilly’s Army Public School.
While she was in Bareilly, she won the May Queen beauty pageant organized by the army. There was no looking back after that. She was crowned as the runner-up at the Femina Miss India contest in 2000. She bagged international attention and fame when she was crowned Miss World in 2000. The crown fetched her a one-way ticket to Bollywood.
Priyanka Chopra made her Debut in Bollywood in 2002 with “Hero: Love Story of a Spy” opposite Sunny Deol. Unfortunate for Priyanka Chopra and everybody else involved, the film was a huge flop, sinking Priyanka’s probabilities of making it big.

However, her next movie Andaaz was a hit partially due to Priyanka’s on-screen sizzle. There was no looking back after that.
She trailed up with yet another bestseller, Aitraaz (2004). She bagged 2 Filmfare nominations for this movie, one for Best Supporting Actress and the other for Best Villain, the latter of which she received. Only two years into her profession and she were already categorized as an award-winning, A-list artist.
The actress has other hit movies like Don, Fashion, Krrish, Dostana, Kaminey, Anjaana Anjaani, Don 2, Agneepath, Barfi in her bag of achievements. However, the bag of her flops is equally bigger with movies like what’s your rashee, 7 Khoon Maaf, God Tussi Great Ho, Drona, Love Story 2050, Big Brother, Salaam-e-Ishq etc.
Priyanka Chopra won her first National Award for Best Actress, as well as another Filmfare award, this time for Best Actress for her blockbuster movie Fashion.
In 2012, Priyanka made her debut in the music industry with her first single In My City, featuring will.i.am. She followed it up with Exotic, this time working with rapper Pitbull.
Priyanka released her third single I Can’t Make You Love Me in which she romanced Hollywood hunk Milo Ventimiglia.
Priyanka did her first item number in the movie Babli Badmaash Hai from the movie Shootout At Wadala. And sizzled the screen again in “Ram Chahe Leela”
Piggy Chops was appointed as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador for Child Rights in 2010.
However in 2014, Priyanka also received critical praise for her role as boxer MC Mary Kom in the biopic Mary Kom directed by Omung Kumar and produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The film was given the award ‘Best Popular Film’ at the 62nd National Film Awards.

Her acting broke all records with movies like Bajirao Mastani and Dil Dhadakne do. She was seen in Bajirao Mastani as Kashibai, the first wife of Peshwa Bajirao.
Priyanka received the Padma Shri from President Pranab Mukherjee at Rashtrapati Bhavan on April 12.
