Our prayers have finally been answered!
Our favorite upper-class family is back! After more than a decade-long hiatus, everyone’s most beloved comedy show Sarabhai vs. Sarabhai is going to be back to give you the giggles with rib-tickling comedy and saucy one-liners.
After over a year of speculations and rumors, actor/producer/director Jamnadas Majethia confirmed via his Twitter handle that the hit sitcom would indeed be back.

The beloved show, which boasts of veteran actors Satish Shah, Ratna Pathak Shah, Sumeet Raghavan, Rajesh Kumar and Rupali Ganguly among it’s cast members will start shooting it’s second season by the end of this month.
Producer JD Majethia confirmed that the show will be back as a web series on the streaming app HotStar. It will be available on both digital and mobile platforms.
Although all the original cast members confirmed their involvement, the show will take a seven-year leap from the last episode back in 2006. The show will also be adding some new cast members to double the fun.
Speaking to tabloid Mumbai Mirror, Majethia said,
“At every public event and even at private functions in the last ten years, I was always asked when Sarabhai vs Sarabhai was returning. It was a public demand which finally compelled us to set aside everything else and concentrate on developing a quality script which lives up to the audience’s expectations.”
Well, thank you for listening to us Mr. Majethia 🙂
Majethia added that the show would continue shooting throughout the month of April and the makers are targeting a mid-May release. Nice!
We’re sure you cannot wait to watch those sarcastic comments of Indravadan, which made us riot in front of our TV sets.
Or hear Rosesh’s world class poetry.
Or Maya’s taunts filled with sarcasm and mockery.
With one of our favorite comedies returning, we can only hope our that another one returns too.
We’re keeping our fingers crossed.
Stay tuned for more. 🙂
