Outrageous comments ! Love them or hate them. Every now and then our most beloved celebrities, politicians, and personalities indulge in a little tongue-twisting. And sometimes their outrageous commentary transcends all realms of logic and decency.
Take a look at some of the most strange words ever quoted:-
1. Om Prakash Chautala.
It seems that the Haryana Chief Minister just couldn’t catch a break after he spewed these sexist remarks. And that just counts as just a handful of discriminatory words used by politicians from the state.
2. 50 Cent
Curtis Jackson or known by his stage name ’50 Cent’ came under much furor from both his fans and people on twitter. His facetious comment on the Japan earthquake and the dead sparked quite a lot of negative commentary and he was ultimately made to apologize.
3. Abhijeet Bhattacharya
A highly insensitive comment made by the yesteryear singer at the height of the Salman Khan case. A high profile case that got people glued to their T.V. sets expecting Bhai to be released for his ‘reasonable mistakes’. And to further add to the insensitivity, all of his supporters jumped on the support bandwagon without even looking at the charges.
4. Mallika Sherawat
Most readers would debate whether it’s even right to put her on this list since it’s for famous people. But the actress did break the internet with her selfie featured along with President Obama. The comments that followed, however, broke our minds.
She was quoted saying,
” In fact, I feel that my life is the same as Obama’s. I do not come from a filmi family, nor do I have a Godfather. I’m from Haryana, but I changed the rules of the industry with my work and so has Obama. I entered an industry dominated by ones who use their surname as a passport, yet I managed to make a name for myself. I think we both are changing the rules of the game in our own way.”
5. Kanye West
Another rapper on the list who probably forgot what words meant. Somebody better hand him a dictionary or redefine the entire meaning of the word ‘homesick.’
6. Heather Whitestone
While she does deserve quite a lot of appraisal for her triumphs despite being deaf, her answer must have really flipped everyone’s lid in the judges panel.
7. Rahul Gandhi
If Arnab’s interview with Congress’s scion wasn’t enough to give people a hemorrhage, his quotes do the job well enough. This is coming from the same self-entitled opulent leader who remarked that “Poverty is a state of mind.”
8 . Rashard Mendenhall
Most people would perhaps support the American Football player’s words. That is if people knew who he was talking about. This was actually his reaction after the U.S. declared Osama’s death way back many years ago. Quite weird.
9. Jean-Claude Van Damme
Maybe he’s just trolling his fans or testing his sanity, but the action star’s twitter is a goldmine full of such gems. So much so that his fans compare his twitter with Jaden Smith who regularly spouts equally “wise” quotes like-“How Can Mirrors Be Real If Our Eyes Aren’t Real?”.Deep questions indeed.
10. Mulayam Singh Yadav
Saving the worst for last. It feels as if all logic and righteousness escaped the politician’s mind in the wake of one of the worst rape cases to shock the country. Just another strong indicator of the toxic sexism that runs deep in the minds of our representatives.
