And Now Let’s Look At Security
Android has cultivated quite a negative image of being deficient when it comes to security. But Blackberry plans on changing that very image.
8.To start with, BES10 provides spectacular manageability of applications both open and inconspicuous. BBM Protected protects instant messaging and BlackBerry Guardian shields the phone against mobile malware.
9.Taking examples from the Priv, the DTEK50 features Hub where all unread emails, unattended data, instant messages and such are stored.
10.But if you still question the security, the phone features a QNX core which acts as a firewall against malware and data leakage. It’s powerful and resilient enough to protect cars and power plants.
11.And that’s not all. If in any case, your connections are insecure or if you have a malicious app installed, the phone acts instantly without affecting your data.
12. Blackberry is cashing in on their security updates to account for it’s hardware shortcomings. It comes with an app that checks the phone’s security, gives ratings for features. But more importantly, it reports any suspicious activities to the concerned authorities at the first sight of trouble.
13.It also gives recommendations to make it more secure. If anyone tampers with the phone by taking pictures, sending messages or sneaking through contacts, don’t worry. It tracks all apps and is active at every instant.
14. BlackBerry stated that DTEK50’s security is integrated into the hardware and OS. Data has encrypted automatically. Even if lost or stolen, no one can gain data access with the password. It also gives a neat Password Keeper, which safely stores all your log in credentials.
15.It’s all about the need for speed. BlackBerry pledges a quick delivery of security patches even when the phones are not in use. Blackberry claims it’s the fastest in releasing security patches for any vulnerabilities. It even released a table comparing its efficiency to others a month ago.
The DTEK50 will be available by 8th of August and has been priced at $299 (Rs.20,000) in the U.S. No details as to when it will hit the Indian markets, but prices are expected to start at Rs. 25,000.
