We know them as the fathers of Indian’s answer to Amazon.com . Yes, I am talking about Mr. Sachin Bansal and Mr. Binny Bansal . These both founders are selected as one of the “Top 100 most influential people” in the world for the year 2016 by TIME. Time 100 is an annual list of the 100 most influential people in the American world assembled by the American news magazine Time.

Both are listed under the ‘Titan’ section of the list which includes the likes of Mark Zuckerberg, Sundar Pichai, Wang Jianlin, Mohammed Bin Nayef, Tim Cook, Yuri Milner and Pop Francis.
Flipkart now has more than 75 million users and a valuation of $13 billion , and Binny and Sachin do have modest lifestyles, by billionaire standards, but they’re also nimble tacticians and hardheaded realists, and they dream big, a senior TIME’s writer writes.
As per Forbes magazine, only Sachin Bansal and Binny Bansal had made their debut on the India’s top 100 rich list and that happened in September 2015. This was for the first time that any e-commerce billionaire’s founders had debuted in Forbes list. The Bansals made their debut at 86th position with a net worth of $1.3 billion each.
Here is what Sachin and Binny Bansal said after being honored “We are humbled and honored to feature in this list. This is truly a recognition of the Indian internet ecosystem and its role in using technology to solve local problems that is enabling Indians to lead a better life”.
In TIME’s word : “Binny Bansal and Sachin Bansal started Flipkart in 2007 as an online bookstore. For seed money, they pooled their savings: around $10,000. Their data center was their apartment in Bangalore. So it could have been the height of arrogance when the two Bansals, who had worked together at Amazon, told investors Flipkart could be worth $100 million in a decade.”
