Can we sleep side by side, tonight?
With your clothes on,
And mine too;
With you facing me,
And my eyes glued to you?
Can we sleep together?
Live one night,
Our forever;
Without the worries of a tomorrow,
With nothing to take,
And nothing to borrow.
Can we talk about our souls tonight?
Not mere bodies,
But what exists inside;
Can you hear my heart beating,
Slowly lifting,
And then drowning?
Can we stare at each other?
Into those hazel brown eyes,
That hide,
Numerous lies;
Can you for once,
Feel my presence,
And not my bodily essence?
Can we drink the stars tonight?
Without the thought of getting high,
With the mind, sane enough to lie,
And with a myriad of things crossing by,
Of loneliness and nothingness,
Of belongings and togetherness.
Can we just sleep together, tonight?
With your clothes on,
And mine too;
With you facing me,
And my eyes glued to you?
